F.A.Q.

  • How do I commission you?

  • What you need to send me: PayPal e-mail, references, details (mood, personality, scars), commission type (portrait, half-body, etc). If you have a special need that is not listed, we can discuss it.

  • How to send it: Upload references to www.imgur.com and send me the link or make a PDF file. Imgur is preferred. I do not accept .zip files or Google Drive links, nor are seperate images very optimal.

  • Send me references of your character in the desired outfit: Make sure that there are references of the character from all angles in good lightning, otherwise I will not be able to draw the details. You can also use face claims or previously commissioned pieces as references. Just make sure to let me know of any details in text.

  • Send references for pose and background, otherwise tell me what you want. Upload it to www.imgur.com alongside the character references, or add it in the PDF. If you do not have any references, I can go off description.

  • When I accept your commission, I will write you up on my waiting list. My waiting list does not typically exceed 1 month.

  • What happens after I've sent all you need?

  • Typically within a month, I will get started on your commission.

  • I take payment after the sketch: I will make a sketch for you and send an invoice over PayPal on the e-mail that you have provided. If you have any corrections to the pose, I will correct it here. After I have received the money, I will start to work on the lineart.

  • I will continuously send updates on the progress until it's done. Corrections are welcome, however major changes during this process (such as pose) comes at an additional cost. The amount of updates vary on a case-to-case basis.

  • Typically the commission is finished within 1 week of the initial sketch. If I require more time, I will let you know.

Terms of service

Copyright and use of art

  • I, NihilAzari, retain full ownership and copyright of the commissioned artwork, and as such reserve the right to use it for my own portfolio, advertisement and prints. I do not reserve the right to the characters portrayed in the artwork, only the artwork itself. If you want to keep the artwork private, it can be discussed.

  • You, as the customer, may use your commissioned artwork for personal use only and may publish and use it anywhere with credit; such as on forums, blogs, avatars, icons, etc. You may create personal prints, but are not allowed to sell them to others. Commercial use must be agreed upon beforehand and has an additional fee.

  • You may not edit or change the commissioned artwork, nor are you allowed to remove the watermark. You may not claim ownership of the piece, only the characters portrayed in it.

Refund policy

  • I reserve the right to decline any commission. Should you already have paid the commission fee and I can't finish it, you will be fully refunded.

  • If you decide to cancel a commission, you must let me know as soon as possible. If you cancel while on the waiting list or during the initial sketch, there will be no fee.

  • Should you cancel the commission after the payment, I will keep a rough estimate of the price according to how much work I have already put into the commission.

  • No refund will be given after the completion of the commission.

  • Refunds can take up to 7 days to go through.

Pricing and payment

  • The total estimated price of the commission may be discussed prior to the initial sketch, upon request. In some cases, the intial sketch is required to be finished before an accurate estimation may be made. You have full right to cancel the commission without a fee during this process.

  • All payments go through PayPal invoices in euros (€). Though the initial sketch is free, I do not start any work in earnest until the payment has been paid in full. Should you not be able to pay the invoice at a certain time, a deadline may be agreed upon when the invoice must be paid. After the deadline, I will cancel the commission.

  • Should you, the customer, cause the completion of the commissioned artwork to take longer than estimated due to corrections, addition requests or otherwise, you may be subject to additional costs. These will be discussed before any changes are made so that you may reconsider.

  • Any delay to the completion of the commissioned artwork caused by myself, the artist, will not result in any additional fees.

Private drawing lessons

Starter - Beginner - Intermediate

Overview

  • Hourly rate: 20 Euro.

  • Schedule: I can make time, so it depends on your schedule. No less than one hour per week for consistent improvement and follow-up.

The lessons are tailored specifically to suit the student’s experience. Lessons will advance and progress as the student learns. There is open communication throughout the lessons, which will be held online via Discord’s call feature. The lessons consist of theoretical topics and practical exercises. There will be individual assignments as the student progresses, which will be used to test the student’s experience and knowledge, and will be evaluated and discussed to further the student’s improvement. The assignments will be relevant to the course material that has already been taught and practiced.Communication is available at almost all hours of the day for quick tips, questions and reschedule. This will be free of charge. I will charge an hourly rate for prolonged feedback and corrections, as this will take considerably more time.Though my schedule is very flexible, I will appreciate it if any reschedule of classes is requested at least 24 hours prior. Otherwise I might unfortunately have to decline the reschedule, and we will have to find a later hour or date.I can teach both traditional pencil art and digital art. My focus is on portraits and character designs for game characters and fantasy. This will not affect the lessons unless it is requested. The lessons will be general for all skills in art, though with minimal focus on still-life and environment.

Required items

If you do not already have a webcam and microphone, I would urge you to get them, even if they’re cheap. Microphone is absolutely essential for the lessons, and a webcam is a quick and easy way for me to see what you’re doing and how you’re working. I will not need to see your face.

Required items for traditional art

  • Paper: A4 printing paper will do, but drawing/sketching books are preferred.

  • Pencils: Graphic pencils in H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B. It’s not required to have all B-variants, but at least a few are preferred.

  • Eraser: Make sure it’s a good quality (new) eraser to avoid eraser marks on the paper.

Required items for digital art

  • Pen tablet: Any drawing tablet of any size will do, though I recommend Huion and Wacom. They are good companies with sturdy and high-quality products. Wacom is more expensive than Huion. If you’re unsure of which tablet to buy, I can recommend a few products.

  • Drawing program: I specialise in CLIP Studio Paint, so that’s the program we’ll be using. It’s a relatively cheap one-time purchase. It’s fantastic for many different drawing and painting styles and has an online community with many easily accessible online brushes.
